We need to let it be known that black is British, that brown is British, and that we are not going away.

This is the perfect introduction to disability  justice, rights, advocacy and allyship whether you're disabled or not.
I highly recommend everyone to read this book especially if you relate to any of the below:
  • Have you ever tried to talk about disability and found yourself flustered over what words to use?
  • Have you ever shushed your kid for asking "what's wrong" with a person using a wheelchair?
  • Have you ever shared a news story about a disables person on social media because you felt warm and fuzzy after reading it?
  • Have you ever compared yourself to someone with a disability to make yourself feel better about your own life?
If your response was "yes" to any of these, don't stress. I'm not here to judge. Consider this book a safe space to learn and find answers to certain questions you might have but aren't sure how to ask.

This is a beautiful book. Its definitely directed more to a father than son - it would be the perfect Fathers day gift. That being said, its simple and sweet and could be enjoyed by a kid all the same so dont discount its value. Its wonderfully diverse and inclusive and represents many different families. Not only that, but it shows a father-son relationship in a positive light that i would like to see more.

This book was really meaningful to me as an asexual genderqueer man. I'm thankful to see others sharing their stories and life experiences that line up with my own. It makes you feel less alone

An emotional rollercoaster in the best way possible.
This is such a rich, beautiful and emotional story about an Ojibwe womens journey through drugs and death in her community.  A story that shares with us some teachings of the authour (and characters) tribe which is an honour to be taught and shared.
"After all, storytelling is how we share what it means to be Anishinaabe."

Lost a star for the racist/antisemetic term "aryan" used repeatedly to describe the celtic people as well as anti-indigenous language.
Other than that, this book is accurate and easy to read and i highly recommend it to anyone interested and all celtic pagans
