Where to Draw the Line: How to Set Healthy Boundaries Every Day by Anne Katherine
queen of wild naming
Real Presence: What Does It Mean and Why Does It Matter? by Timothy P. O'Malley, John C. Cavadini, McGrath Institute for Church Life
informative
medium-paced
I appreciated so much that this book dove into the materialist error of seeing the bread as just a veil for bleeding flesh. Eucharistic miracles are private revelations people. We don’t know what a risen body behaves like and you should be more afraid to make assumptions about it!!! Thanks for your time
The Acts of the Apostles by William S. Kurz
the acts of the apostles owns. the commentary gets points for liberation theology but loses points for its bizarre meditation on the.......... simple savages of malta? ? ? ?

I love Storygraph because I can just go ahead and tell everybody that this beloved spiritual classic is maudlin "everything happens for a reason" garbage and literally nobody will see it

The titular sentence, it turns out, is very Catholic, and I'm extremely emotional about it.
With God in Russia by Daniel L. Flaherty, Walter J. Ciszek
adventurous
dark
fast-paced
There are so many moments when Ciszek starts reflecting on his experience for like, two sentences and then cuts to the next thing. As a result this reads like what it is, a traumatized person's sorta meandering recounting aloud of a really intense life. I'm looking forward to reading He Leadeth Me to get the interior stuff, which is what I'm curious about!

This isn't the kind of thing you sit down and read all the way through. Believe me, I tried. I came back to it over and over and read it out of order and tried my best to pray it instead of just consuming information. It's a brick but WHAT A GOOD BRICK. Come Holy Spirit!!!!
Mary: Human And Holy by Antonio Bello

I love how this book teaches you to enter into your imagination to encounter Mary as a real woman, not just some distant saccharine idea of her. I've struggled with Marian devotion forever because of all the baggage and this book just cut right through that so beautifully. Grateful that this exists!
