The Ex Hex by Erin Sterling

This should probably go on Audible with all the othes, but I got a library loan and didn't think to check Audible reviews first. For the folks in a similar situation- DO NOT, under ANY circumstances, bother with this audiobook.
When an audiobook narrator is (in this case) pretentious enough to state the audio is PERFORMED by (as opposed to narrated, read, etc.), I have heightened expectations.
Boy was I WRONG.
Characters were largely indistinguishable from each other. The narrator's tone and inflection were off or just plain wrong for the storyline. The author makes a point of how appealing Rhys's Welsh accent is and does the narrator even bother? NOPE. There was a badly imitated Irish accent once in a while, but seriously?
I attempted to go to the actual book and read for myself, but the damage had already been done.

I'm still trying to wrap my head around how Milo's profiteering gig worked, haha.
I grew up watching M*A*S*H, and I feel like they were able to draw a lot of inspiration from this novel. I don't actually know if that is the case, but I'm catching that vibe anyway.

I can see exactly why this was taken off the Books & Brews rotation, haha. Many similarities to the current COVID pandemic that made me wonder if Ma actually is a time traveler and tried to warn us or something?
Even taking current events out of consideration, I think this was a pretty good read. It was fast, I needed to know what was next for Candace.
