Lean Mean Thirteen by Janet Evanovich
3.0
I love the Stephanie Plum series but the 13th book kind of disappointed me. There were some funny parts and I liked how Morelli and Plums relationship is getting stronger. However, the way the 12th book ended left it opened to assumptions. When I was hoping she would explain more in the book, which didn't happen.
The Joy Luck Club by Amy Tan
4.0
I really enjoyed Amy Tan's writing style from The Joy Luck Club. I also liked the different cultures and life lessons that the mothers' tried to teach their daughters' at a young age till adulthood. I recommend this book to anyone with an open mind.
Songs of the Humpback Whale by Jodi Picoult
4.0
***********************************SPOILER ALERT********************************************
The story of Songs of the Humpback Whale is better then what I thought it would be. I liked all the characters and how Picoult gave the readers a detailed description of each character throughout the book. But did anybody find Joley's dream disturbing about his sister having sex with her husband? It made me feel disgusted reading about his dream. Also part of me thinks he was in love with his sister. The reason why I gave this book four stars is because I did not like how she had the present story out of order. For example, Rebecca is speaking on July 15, 1990 about something happening to Hadley, when certain parts they are still on their road trip to Massachusetts. Then towards the end of the book, Rebecca is speaking on July 3, 1990. It was confusing at times until I got to the parts of explaining what happen in certain incidents. Overall it was a great story to read despite the sequence of the book. I recommend it to anyone who is a fan of chick lit.
