The Vanishing Half by Brit Bennett

Extremely compelling characters and satisfying story. Every page was enjoyable, even when the types of drama and conflict in this book were not the kinds of conflict I usually gravitate toward. Brit Bennett does a fantastic job of making all of her characters feel exceptionally tangible and emotionally realistic, presenting the effects of racism and colorism on a distinctly human scale. Her book also does a fantastic job of showing the complicated relationship between a set of twin sisters, something that I related to as a twin myself. Her writing is beautiful as well!! I would definitely recommend this book and will be thinking about it for a while.
