A Shadow Bright and Burning by Jessica Cluess
5.0
At first the first few chapters were a struggle, and I kind of wanted to put it down. I am extremely glad I didn't do this! I feel like this is Pride and Prejudice mixed with Harry Potter! It was exciting for most of the book, and Henrietta is a great character. The magic was a-a-amazing, and the romance in the book has not really taken form yet, but there are definitely 2 possibilities, but I am actually hoping for one of the other boys who is very Mr. Darcy like!!! Magnus and Maddox together? Yes! Loved this short novella! I especially loved the small snippet of Cleo. Full review on my blog https://literarydust.wordpress.com/2017/01/07/review-obsidian-blade/

This was super cute, funny, and sweet! I'm not going to lie, I was probably like Em in high school about boys. Full review on my blog https://literarydust.wordpress.com/2017/02/02/romeo-whats-her-name-review-giveaway/
The Diabolic by S.J. Kincaid

First off this is nothing like Red Queen or The Hunger Games. I hate when they try to compare books, and it is totally different. I loved this book, and Nemesis is an MC that was one like I have never read before. She was ruthless and lovable at the same time. I loved seeing her become more human but still maintain her protective stances. Towards the end things get pretty darn intense! This Savage Song by V.E. Schwab

I was hesitant to read this one because I could not finish A Darker Shade of Magic, but I loved this one! August and Kate constantly have inner battles with themselves of not wanting to be a certain way.
"One moment I didn't exist and the next I did, and I spend every day scared I'll just stop being again, and every time I slip, every time I go dark, it's harder to come back. It's all I can do to stay where I am. Who I am."
Loved the bond that developed between August and Kate. The monster stuff was really cool, but I am also a big fan of monsters! Full review on my blog https://literarydust.wordpress.com/2017/02/28/review-this-savage-song/

I absolutely loved this book! I loved the fact that it shows the pre-dystopian events, and it isn't set already in a post apocalyptic world. I loved what an emotional ride it was, and how everything didn't go the way I thought it was going to go. The romance is a slow build and would not call it a romance at all, but I actually loved the pace of it and hopefully what it will lead up to. This was a scary place and because it is set in our time and how the world is it is a lot to think about. Wendy doesn't disappoint, and I am aching for book 2! Unrest by Wendy Higgins

This was a great sequel! This is one of my favorite new adult series! The dystopian factor seems like something that could really happen, there is a perfect blend of romance, and I love the characters (even if I wanted to slap them at times to make a move!). I can't wait for book 3! Full review on my blog https://literarydust.wordpress.com/2017/02/13/review-unrest/
A Darker Shade of Magic by V.E. Schwab

So, the first time I tried to read this book, I quit. I just could not get into it. Maybe it was all the different London talk? I recently read This Savage Song and loved it, so I wanted to give this another shot. Normally, I don't change my mind about a book, but I did here!
I loved the characters!!! Kell! Lila! Especially Lila, because she puts the A in awesome!!! Plus the freaking magic was a-a-mazing! Full review on my blog https://literarydust.wordpress.com/2017/03/23/review-a-darker-shade-of-magic/

The Forgetting by Sharon Cameron

All smirks aside, because there was a ton of smirking, I ended up loving this one! Nadia does begin the book in an annoying fashion, but by the end her character has completely grown. The world was pretty interesting with wondering why these people forget everything every twelve years. The villain was a real piece of work. Loved it! The Scarecrow Queen by Melinda Salisbury

Loved this book! This was the perfect end to this series! I only wish that Silas would have been in the book more. I loved reading from both Twylla and Erinn's point of views! Plus Aurek is one if the best villains ever!! Full review on my blog https://literarydust.wordpress.com/2017/04/14/review-the-scarecrow-queen/
