She's My Kind Of Rain by Ella Embers

I am immensely grateful to have gotten to read this as an ARC! Not only do I absolutely LOVE the man who sings She’s My Kind of Rain - but it takes place in my hometown! (well, close enough)!
I loved every single thing about this book! AND IT HAS A COWBOY! It is super cute and even has some spice! The FMC and MMC go well together! It is insta-love, so expect that. It felt very “right place, perfect moment,” and it showed in their story. It was very much like a perfect dream on how you would expect your life to go & it was very refreshing to read after being addicted to slow burns and things where 4958734986704 things happen before the HEA.
Y’all know I love me a good secondary character and this book did not disappoint on that either! I would recommend this to anyone who wants a good, quick super cute read!
The writing tho.. It almost seemed -- song like.. Lyrical, I think might be a better word. But it flowed so well and really touched on the fact that it’s about a musician itself!

This is 10000% a fantastic ending to this Duology!
I was offered this novel as an ARC review. It came in a gorgeous PR box with my own little dragon and he kept me company the entire time I was reading. I even named him. Sir Readerton, House of Ventura, First of His Name.
Yea. I watched GoT. Sue me lol
Back to the book! It gave me EVERYTHING that I needed. It was action-packed. It was dramatic. It was suspenseful. It has vampires and dragons. DRAGONS. There was a ton of tension and just as much spice. I don’t think I was let down by any part of this book & that isn‘t something that I say often.
In book 1, Celestina got on every single nerve that I have. Not because she was a horribly written FMC, but because she was naive. Her character growth in this one was exactly what I was looking for and kept me turning the pages to see where she went with it. I fell in love with Amaya and Cullen. I love characters that you literally ache to give up. I love a good connection that is painful when it ends. It lets me know that all the blood, sweat, at tears the author put into this novel were portrayed on the pages to the point where I couldn’t give them up.
I will recommend this to literally anyone who will listen.

I am only just now getting into more dystopian novels. I love a good fantasy - but only recently. So I am still new to learning what it should include and what it should not - what I should be looking for and what I WANT the book to give me in this genre.
With all of that being said. WHY ARE MORE PEOPLE NOT TALKING ABOUT THIS?! I read this one and IMMEDIATELY jumped into the next. I am hooked. Quite literally.
It has Fae. It has Humans. It has Fae vs Human and it is GIVING in that department. In ways other fantasy novels I have read haven’t. I couldn’t put it down. I LOVE the FMC - did she annoy me at times? Yes. But I have never liked a one-dimensional character, so I loved it. Honestly, if you haven’t read this yet - you should. Literally. Please do it.
Quote That Stood Out:
-- but also kind of applies to life right now --
Now, lift up your beautiful face and show everyone in the room they can take nothing away from you. No matter what. Never apologize for how others react to your strength.
