A sweet premise, but I feel like something just didn't hit the mark.  I LOVED The Seven Year Slip by this author so  I was really excited for this one, but it couldn't measure up.  I will read more from her though.

So good! Read in one sitting. If Stephen King wrote a black mirror episode, this would be it!!

Did not finish book. Stopped at 43%.
I don't really like this protagonist.  I was interested in what the answer to the weird happenings was going to be, but not enough to listen to another 7 hours of it.

Fun and disturbing novella discussing New Orleans folklore - right up my alley!

Horror for sure. There was a tension almost constantly. The second half was a wild ride. Memorable for sure, but also not something I am running out to tell all horror fans to read. ... Editing this a few days later. Bumped review from 3.5 to 4. In hindsight it is a very memorable book and I think if I had been in a more quiet place when I was reading it, it may have scared the crap out of me.

A book that women in their 40s can relate to - or will be totally turned off by.  :)  I started off really not liking the MC, only to later find myself connecting with her - and maybe even a little inspired by her.

Strange book.  I was pretty sure all along that I wasn't going to like the ending of this book - and I wasn't wrong.  Honestly there were a lot of things I didn't like about it. But yet, I kept listening to it. So 2.5 stars for that.  I thought of the book Leave the World Behind which a lot of people hated, but I enjoyed.  This one reminded me of that - but it was almost predictable but was trying SO hard not to be.
