Very good YA, though sometimes tend to remind the reader a bit to often of stuff. A rollercoaster of a plot, though some things seem to be introduced only to serve as indicators of other books to come.
Good world-building, a step up from book 1 in the duology.

It's a YA worth recommending as a YA. Though i can't help but think how extraordinary the book would have been with more attention to crafting the language.
A plot put in a very interesting world, but where the world knowledge comes from a lot of the paratexts.

This book is a cross between Bo Burnham's "white woman Instagram" and the novel/TV-series Outlander, but without time travel and less romance
