This was truly such a disappointing read. There were so many characters that were introduced in Iron Flame that were completely disregarded in this book until they were needed. Sloan - who was instrumental in Iron Flame, was completely tossed to the side in this book until she randomly - and i mean RANDOMLY - shows up in the last battle to help Daine??? She completely disrupted the magic system she created by just letting anyone have a second signet (I know it’s the ones with relics but that’s what it felt like) I swear she was writing this without any forethought, like “hm, a teleporter could get Violet out of this situation - Garrick, you’re up!!” At the end, we randomly get two different POVs (one from Rhiannon and one from Imogen) and a character death for a character I STG I have never even heard of. Like am I supposed to care???? The only loveable character in this entire series is Andarna and she fucked with that too. I honestly and so disappointed and frankly - pissed. There’s more I could write but to sum it up: confusion. I was dumbfounded this entire book.

Incredibly raw & reflective. A five star read that made me nauseous in the best way. The type of book that I don’t know it I could read again, but that I’ll think about for a long time
