I have mixed feelings about this book. Before reading it, I've seen so many reviews about how it could have been better, or that it generally really sucked. And when I started it, I found these reviews quite literal. All the poems were SO mainstream and I felt like I was reading someone's diary or b&w suicidal blog and I hated it. Then, I would read things that actually spoke to me. Things that I found relatable and good and they didn't suck at all. To my surprise, the book gained an extra star while I was in the midst of it. But then there was repetition. A lot of repetition. Nonchalantly, I disliked the author herself and had this weird vibe from her. Then towards the end of the book, things finally took the right turn, and I absolutely enjoyed it. Some parts had me saying: "YAS HUNTY YAS" and honestly, it was great. Besides the fact that hitting space and enter was really a thing for the author that pissed me off throughout the book, the book really earned those three stars. In the beginning I had thought: "this book screams feminism. hell yeah." But I was really disappointed in the beginning. But that sense finally arrived, AT THE END, which was a bummer. But anyway, I would totally recommend this book, and if you're curious to know what it's about, you should totally read it!
