3.5⭐️ This is a very short book, so the plot moves at hyper speed. Fated mates, supernatural and reverse harem - a solid mix for any book. I wish more time was spent on the guy’s history to give them more of a background, I found it hard to separate them out at times. Overall a quick easy read with a hint of spice and a massive cliffhanger, which means of course I’ll need to read the rest of the books in the series.

Plant magic, mysterious family, and Greek mythology, what more do you need for a slightly dark, mysterious, sapphic YA book! I am not usually a fan of Greek mythology books, but the history and inclusion of it in this book has me wanting to read more. The beginning did seem to drag out a bit, but looking back I’m glad the author included all the details. It really gave the full impact when the plot twists hit! I’m so glad I already picked up the second book so I can continue with this amazing story.

I had such high hopes for this book, but Tate and Miles are such two dimensional characters that I can’t even remember anything about them other than their constant need to hookup. Over half the book was the same repeating pattern: Tate sleeps with Miles, Miles does/says something that shows he has feelings, Tate gets hopeful, Miles quickly shuts her down, Tate gets upset, and repeat. You don’t even get a current pov of Miles until the last few chapters of the book, and the past pov of Miles were brutal to get through. They read like a 13 year old’s diary but are suppose to be from an 18 year old’s pov. This wouldn’t have been a book had Miles just gone to therapy.

A truly dystopian YA book! This book has a slow start as you see things from Juliette’s pov after being isolated for so long. The writing style is very unique but I think it gives a great look into Juliette’s mind and how bleak her life had been for the past few years. As any series does, the first book has to set the tone and background, which can be pretty in-depth with dystopian worlds. I think the author did a fantastic job at explaining how the world currently is with their extremely detailed descriptions. I cannot wait to pick up the rest of the books in the series!

A self-discovery book about a merrow. Sounded like a great book. But I struggled with the pacing of the book. There were times where big scenes happened in 2 sentences and others that dragged out for a chapter. I enjoyed reading about Char, her found family, and other magical beings. The story is written mostly as Char’s internal dialogue and I really missed the banter and conversations characters typically have. I had a hard time understanding anything about a character because of it.
