Devotions: The Selected Poems of Mary Oliver by Mary Oliver

Starting to think I might be better off not trying to track poetry books because I tend to pick them up off and on just to read a poem here and there every blue moon.

Cleaning up my currently reading profile haha. Kinda hard to track books that I tend to read a couple of poems from here and there and then might not pick up for a really long time.

Sadly, it was just hard to focus on any kind of reading during this season. DNFing this one since I'm a week away from getting married and it's a bit late to go back and do things any differently haha. HOWEVER, I really wish I had gotten around to reading this one because from what I skimmed through a bit, I really could have used this during the process of planning our wedding (might have saved us some stress AND money), but alas here we are at the finish line haha.

So while I haven't read this in its entirety and probably won't, I very highly recommend this to any bride who wants a practical resource that's different from all the magazines and websites and books telling you that you have to spend tons and tons of money and do all the things or that you need to DIY every single thing to save money (because it's not always worth the time or the cost). If my engagement had been a bit longer, I definitely would have taken the time to dive into this before jumping into everything.

Worked through this book for premarital counseling and picked up so many tools and helpful practices along the way. Will definitely be revisiting this one even after we are married.

What is the Bible?: How An Ancient Library of Poems, Letters, and Stories Can Transform the Way You Think and Feel About Everything by Rob Bell

I'm so glad I finally read this. As my faith has grown and evolved, one of the things I've struggled with most is reading the Bible. Each time I tried to get back into reading it again, I felt like I couldn't get away from the way I used to understand it and it sometimes brought up negative emotions. I wanted to sink into it again, but I didn't have a framework for how to read it any differently.

After taking a class at my church, I started to see how the accounts in the Bible could come to life for me in a new way. I'd heard about this book before, and it was mentioned in my class at church as well, so I knew I wanted to get to it eventually.

And I absolutely loved it!! Rob Bell was such a fun and engaging narrator, and everything he had to say felt approachable and accessible. I can't recommend it enough!

Started listening to this one on a long road trip and picked up a couple of good thoughts but not really interesting enough to keep going.
