The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larsson

I am extremely disappointed that this book has become so popular, and even more chagrined to discover that it is the second book on NPR's list of the best thrillers. What?! Authors such as Tess Gerritsen and Patricia Cornwell write exponentially better thrillers!
This book contains unrelentingly graphic descriptions of sexual sadism, amongst other things, and while authors such as Gerritsen and Cornwell deal with similar topics, they handle them much, much more tastefully.
Finishing this book was a waste of time, but I did it because I kept expecting it to become more interesting.
World, I am disappointed with you for being addicted to this book. It isn't worth it. Find some better authors to read.

An all-around entertaining and interesting read. Ended a bit suddenly and depressingly.

It gets one star for hilarity. Other than that, I can't believe I wasted my time.
