The most egregious part of this wasn’t the plot, it was the random origin story info dump towards the end.
Don’t try to explain this & justify anything that happened. No need for this to be some ancient Japanese folklore turned real. Just let the plot be batshit insane & keep it pushing. This should’ve been 80 pages or less

This is my first dramione fan fiction and I truly don’t know how it gets better than this.
This has me so fucking feral & rabid, I fear I need to be put down immediately.
This was everything & more. I love the writing, the characters, the story, the relationships. I don’t care how the main book series ended THIS IS CANON & nobody can convince me otherwise.
This was addicting to read, I did not want to put this down. Idk how to convince you to read it, but please, if you only read one dramione fan fiction - READ THIS. Even if you don’t give a good god damn about Harry Potter just read this. Especially if you’re in the mood for a morally grey mmc, who is a DOWN BAD SIMP who would do anything for the woman that he’s forced to marry & has been obsessed with for years (including being the villain so that she remains the hero !!!!!)

ISAIAH & KENNEDY ARE SO PERFECT FOR EACH OTHER & I LOVE THEM SO MUCH. THE WAY THEY WERE WILLING TO GIVE UP EVERYTHING TO MAKE THE OTHER HAPPY & LIVE THEIR DREAMS??!!!?
Isaiah’s relationship with Kai, Max & Monty MAKES ME CRY MY EYES OUT. Especially with Kai & Monty, they’ve been through so much & would do anything for the ones they love. And the found family relationship with Zanders, Stevie, Ryan, Indy, Rio, Miller, Travis & Cody- yeah I’ll cry right now.
The way the ENTIRE BASEBALL TEAM always treated Kennedy with nothing but the respect she deserves & always gave her her flowers AND THEN HAD HER BACK AT THE END 😭
Also Monty’s relationship with Kennedy?? We love a supportive father figure 🥺
I actually can’t emphasize enough how much I love this series. If you haven’t read it already, go do it right now. This is a comfort series FOR SURE. I saw myself in so many of the characters. Don’t ask me to choose which book is my favorite because it’s a 3-way tie between The Right Move, Caught Up & Play Along.

This book reaffirmed why I hate the 3rd act breakup tropes, MY GOD that was so hard to get through. Totally understand Zanders reasoning behind it & his trauma but I just wanted to wrap that stupid gold chain around his tatted neck TIGHT until he got it together 😤

No shade to the audio narrator, she did a GREAT job, I just think some of the corny dialogue wouldn’t have stuck with me as much.
I enjoy Karina Halle’s books, they’re easy to read, interesting stories with LOTS of spice.
LOVED getting to know more about the vampire lore and Absolon & Lenore’s characters.
Idk if I’ll read the 2nd book in this series, but I’m def gonna read Wolfe & Amethyst’s story in Nightwolf 🤭
