I wanted to like this book - I really did; but I couldn't get passed how hard I had to work to even slightly like the main character. Danny's world has fallen apart - breaks up with his boyfriend, loses his house, and now has an STI for aforementioned ex-boyfriend. I will say it felt like a real portrayal of a young adult just trying to figure out their life, who they are, and who they want to be with.
I was given a copy of this story to read; but thoughts and opinions are all my own. Thank you to Netgalley and Random House Publishing - Ballantine for the chance to read this book!

I'm not sure why I didn't see the ending coming. The book is from Lee's point of view as she walks you through her entire survival story. The flashbacks were interesting, but got to be a bit much. The two main characters barely know each other; but go off on an adventure together - backpackers are a whole different breed. I was thoroughly entertained throughout the entire book.

I was expecting beachy vacations, along the lines of People We Meet on Vacation (which I LOVED). This story takes place in a lake house neighborhood where two neighbors re-meet in the oddest of circumstances. I was hooked from the first chapter, and the range of emotions the story takes you through leaves you exhausted in the best way.
Loved that this wasn't the typical grumpy-sunshine trope...this time around, the would-be grump has to bring the 'sunny' back out in the sunshine character. I have never read an Emily Henry book I didn't like; but this is one of my new favorites.
