How to End a Love Story by Yulin Kuang
4.0
I did not see myself rating this favorably until the last 1/3 of the book.
Helen is insufferable. Grant is insufferable. They deserve each other.
I didn't root for them until about 2/3 of the way in. It was the time elapsed and character growth that finally added some depth to the story. While trauma bonding over Michelle's death SEEMS to be deep enough, it isn't until they take the time to learn more about themselves and reexamine their lives, choices and relationships.
Maybe I'm just high but that really hit me in the feels.

The plot seemed spicy and entertaining but the execution was not the best. The dirty talk felt cringy and dare I say there was too much plot?!
The Takedown by Carlie Walker

Entertaining but it was pretty mid overall. The plot was so ridiculous and she was such a bad spy....
Not writing Carlie Walker off as an author but this was not my fave.

I had a lot of fun with this wild book! It's so outlandish and so sexy and I really enjoyed it. The narration was TOP NOTCH because the narrators are MARRIED IRL and got to work with each other which brought another level of amazing authenticity to the audiobook.

I loved this book so much. I knew I loved Dani the moment I started reading. She has a fierce need to prove herself and grow into her independence. I thought her huge move was so brave!!!
The flashbacks with Wouter were so sweet and dreamy. How Dani remembers and compares things like his fingers and his confidence was so endearing.
The ending was obvious however I'm not a mad at all. This ended exactly how I wanted it to.

I loved these two characters but I found the entire plot a little bit clunky. All in all a great read but book 1 will forever be on a pedestal in my heart!!!
