Lovesickness: Junji Ito Story Collection by Junji Ito

Not my favorite of the collections. The Lovesickness was good and was the first of the longer stories I read, but it wasn't anything super grand. I am also not a fan of the Hikizuri Siblings as I just find them annoying.

Still a good read but not the favorite of the ones I've read. Still a must read for Ito fans :)

This had a good amount of great stories but some of them are ones he based on other stories, which isn't a bad thing but they didn't have his style of horror story telling. However, the one does contain The Human Chair which is a great story and it's a good collection for body horror.

I found this a real delight of his stories. Lots of body horror and creepy ghosts in this one. It's also a nice mix of grotesque but almost like sweet horror, not gross stories but nice ones. Highly recommended.

A great collection of Ito's work but be warned, it is very detailed and some of the stories definitely made my skin crawl. A great read though if you're into horror, just bear in mind there is a lot of body horror in this one.

This is more science fiction than horror for those interested in reading junji ito but it is still a great story. It's a bit philosophical as well about life and death but it is not just about suicide as the synopsis may imply.

A very interesting story. More sci-fi than horror but interesting none the less. Not very gory but the actions of the humans are what makes this an interesting story.

This is the second of Junji Ito's works I've read and it's much better than Deserter. Honestly, read that first and then go into his later works because his style became much darker and way more detailed. I really enjoyed this one.

I didn't realize this was all one long story but it wasn't bad, but it felt a little disjointed and even Ito seems to feel that way in the afterword. It felt very spiritual with a cult aspect but it was a bit hard to read because of all the varying stories seemly disconnected. A good read though.

Not one of my favorite collections. Even in the afterword, Ito mentioned he might be tired of writing manga, but it was still good. There was two stories in this I really enjoyed, but not one of my favorite collections overall.

This was the first books of Junji's I read and specifically chose it because it is one of his earlier works. His art style isn't fully developed and his story telling is still being perfected but it is still a great read. It's not very much body horror but it still has it's gore moments. Still really recommend.
