This book was a good book. I think it was a good starter read if I’m being honest. The writing style wasn’t my absolute favorite. I enjoyed that the author did different POVs between the FMC and MMC.

This is my first Riley Sager book and I am very impressed. I listened to this book on Audible and I was hanging on every word. I enjoyed the characters and the usual ‘oh, I know exactly what the plot twist is going to be’ was not at all what I thought it would be. The last three chapters of this book had my jaw on the floor. This book was the perfect book to get me out my Onyx Storm hangover because I personally needed a book that was resolved. I would 100% recommend this book to someone.

I am just getting into thriller and suspenseful books. I am glad I read this one early in my journey because I feel like it’s a good starter to thriller books.
*******Possible spoilers*******
I’m not going to lie the main character pissed me off a lot throughout the book and I just wanted her to stand up for herself more. I hated the way her boyfriend treated her and just wished she had known what she deserved earlier on in the book. Not that it would’ve prevented what happened from happening. The plot twist at the end I was not anticipating especially because of how they opened up the book. It was a good read and I’d be happy to read from this author again.

Rebecca Yarros is a really good Author.
Fourth Wing reignited my love for reading and Onyx Storm will probably leave me in a book hangover. I love morally gray Xaden and the strength and confidence that Violet found in this book. I love the dragon banter and Ridoc not taking anything serious. I enjoyed the world building and development of other characters we had not really interacted with in the first two books. Overall this book was an amazing read and I’m excited for a re-read.

I have no idea where to begin but this book starts off right where Iron Flame left off and most of the book is Xaden battling with himself about being Venin, and drawing from the source. His sacrifice at the end of the book broke my heart and after an entire book trying not to become too Venin; he does it to save Violet and the people she loves. I love Xaden and I really hope there is a cure because how can you marry someone just to leave them when you know you love them.
Violet, Violet , Violet. She did her big one in this book. She becomes sure of herself and confident in her relationships and her bonds with her dragon. It’s nice to see her standing up for herself and believing in herself. It was so nice to find out that the color of her hair has nothing to do with Venin or anything like that but because her father dedicated her to a goddess. I loved that! I loved that we found out her second signet and we had like that Ah-ha moment.
I loved Andarna and I was so excited about the possibility of meeting her den and seeing how they would interact with everyone. Needless to say I was extremely surprised when they wanted nothing to do with her because she was too ‘violent’. I love that Leothan came back but I cried my heart out when she had to leave Violet and break their bond. I’m excited to find out in the 4th book what exactly happened when she went to the isles with the dragon from her den. However, I think the iris’s were kinda stupid to leave an egg in the Vale with dragons trained for wars and then being bitter about that’s what she learned. Idk seems like a test they set her up to fail.
My favorite moment in the whole book is when the bookstore owner calls Xaden Dain and Mira needs a second to collect herself. I cackled for so long, my stomach hurt.

This book was not at all what I had anticipated. I initially thought it was just going to be a strange dystopian story. But this book really got me thinking deeper past the surface-level basics of the book and really considering the propaganda that the government and large corporations feeds us and tell us one thing while really covering up for something else. This book really had my mental wheels turning the entirety of the book. And that ending! Boy I didn’t anticipate that at all!

I originally read this book in 2012 on Wattpad right before it got published and I was obsessed. I wanted so badly to find a man like Ashton.
On the re-read of this book it gave me so much nostalgia and reminded me why I love romance books so much. Especially some with a little bit of darkness in it. I think if you’re into YA books it’s a good read, but I think I’m graduating out of that specific genre which is why I only gave it 3 stars. But it’s a good book and great series overall.

will be honest there may be spoilers ahead…
This book started off really rough, it was slow-paced and there was a ton of world-building from multiple POVs which I wasn’t really a fan of. I probably would have DNF’d it if it was a gift from my significant other.
I did not enjoy some of the characters. I thought overall they were dull and uninteresting. I think the concept of this book is really good I just think overall the author missed what she was trying to achieve. It took over 100 pages for the book to actually get interesting although there was kills by this point and getting into building the relationship of the main characters.
I think the plot-twists were interesting and that was when I actually started to enjoy the book and the only reason it has 3 stars in this review. However, it do take until almost page 200 for me to be like actually interested in the book.
