Four Found Dead by Natalie D. Richards

4.0

3.5 stars. I feel like it wasn't very immersive in the writing-I mean, my heart rate didn't spike at all even though the plotline is very tension packed-and while I did read it in one sitting it wasn't amazing and if I had something better to do than read, I would have happily put it down and maybe picked it up again to read while I ate my lunch. I feel like as a reader I was given no reason to care about these characters. My main reason for Jo, the main character, to stay alive was her sister, who would probably fall apart if Jo died. The characters weren't very well developed-I know Hannah plays softball, Hudson has seizures, Jo has trauma and is going to be a doctor, Summer was sheltered and homeschooled, but nothing else. There was no moral gray; Quincy (or Hudson, I don't remember to be honest and I just read the book this morning) did kill Clayton at the end but let's be honest, he deserved it and while Quincy (I'm pretty sure it was him and not Hudson) didn't regret it at all, again, Clayton did deserve it, so that's hardly a compelling moral aspect to dwell on. I read it and was immediately ready to move onto another fictional world without any time to think about it, while with a good book I need at least a day to process it. All in all, 3.5 stars and while it is not an amazing book I would recommend you read it because while it's not thought provoking, it is decently written and the plotline is pretty good.
