well. to start i live in the us so i’ve been a fan of this book but the american version of it for about three years now. ever since i figured out that the uk version was different i’ve wanted to read it, and finally i was able to and boy do i have a lot to say about it

to start the american cover is better (i’m sorry holly jackson but your american cover artist is better than your british) but that’s not what this review’s about
cover aside though, i have to say that i liked this version better for a couple of reasons
1. pip’s character made more sense  to me-in this book she was more random fact and i felt like that portrayed why she was so obsessed with her homework better, in a way-but that’s just me
2. i felt like her writing style was more genuine to herself, maybe because it was revised less-it was more descriptive and i enjoyed it better

overall there’s definitely nothing wrong with reading the american version, especially because in the us it’s hard to find/buy the uk version, but if this is like your favorite book i would definitely recommend buying it because in my opinion it’s a bit better-but the american version is definitely still amazing and i highly recommend either edition

this was one of the best things i’ve ever read. it’s a chilling narrative from 1950 but it’s even more relevant now than ever about the importance of limiting your children’s technology use (at least that’s how i interpreted it)
