this book was phenomenal and might be my personal fave. I was sobbing by the end. this is a story about loss, grief, growing up, & finding your family. about a small community of people and the secrets they all keep, share, & how lack of communication can make imaginations run rampant with children & adults alike.

this is not a thriller so much as a suspense but there were still a few reveals that had me going "omg" & needing to know what happened next. it goes from the time Billy went missing to the present & back, hearing from the perspective of everyone on the cul-de-sac itself before the truth finally comes to light and I was hooked.

this one was definitely written for me specifcally, whether Riley sager knows it or not! 😹

this is based off an older indie horror game and probably shouldve stayed that way. art is relatively nice overall, the story itself isn't a terrible concept, but the execution is lackluster at best. too much tell don't show/exposition and cringey dialog. neither of which is great in a manga format.

probably just play the game or watch some playthroughs on YouTube instead 🤷🏻‍♀️ it's the same name (without the diary of Ellen subtitle) & made in rpg maker. I'd recommend manlybadasshero's channel or markiplier.

the repetitiveness in parts of the first volume are not present in the second and it honestly makes it flow better from story to story. I love this so much, feels very slice of life.

MY HEART 😭 I had a wonderful time with this one. a SLIGHTLY slower burn, found families, action, romance, steaminess. a wonderful start to a series! a couple parts maybe moved a smidge too slowly for me, but overall I very much enjoyed myself and I cried a couple times. Definitely continuing the series!
