I don’t understand how anyone got through this book. It is entirely set up for the series but there is no plot, no character development, nothing happens!! It’s all set up! I only finished it because it was an audiobook. I put it on when cooking or cleaning and didn’t have to worry about missing anything if I let the room because nothing happened! Not to mention, every single female character is called a b*tch and a whore. Not or, and! Except for one girl who is there to be looked at, she’s called both and she’s not like other girls! (Vomit). It was a boring book where nothing happens and the characters just do what other people tell them to with no wants or desires of their own. Would not recommend.

I don’t know if it’s because I listens to this series on audiobook or what but I just did not find it that well done. I’m all for not explaining anything to reader but it kinda got to a point in this series where I wanted to at least understand something and the author never gives you that. The prose is wonderful though and probably why I kept reading.

Pretty good!! A think this is a good introduction to the different ways we deal with death and the people who do these jobs. The author is nonjudgmental for the most part but does acknowledge when her own opinion is against the person/function.

I’m interested in the mystery of this series but find each installment just bleh. Not in a bad way but just it’s fine. They aren’t bad but I just don’t find them that compelling. Good audiobook to just listen to while cleaning or on a walk.

Hmm I honestly don’t know what to say about it. It’s good, very Muir. It doesn’t not answer more questions than it raises which is very tlt.

Will probably continue the series but it was fine. Not the most interesting story but I do want to see what happens in the next one. They are quick books you can get through in a day.

I’m not gonna say it’s the greatest book in the world but it’s written well, has a good plot, and the characters are very well done. Will be reading the second book!

It was fine. Kinda boring at times and I wasn’t really that interested. I do think the book is well-written and constructed.
