Fun and laid back fantasy. Lots and lots of action. It reads like a movie script. It's straight forward, unsurprising and goes down easy.

I'm a huge fan after the first one, and I feel that my expectations for Ready Player Two were right where they should be - expect a good book that isn't quite as clever and engaging as the first one. There is cool new sci fi tech stuff and more 80's rabbit-hole trivia, and these areas do not disappoint. However the story, which follows the same general formula as the last one, has more "at stake" to the characters and yet feels less thrilling.

If you're just looking for a cool virtual reality and 80's trivia fix, expect to have a good time with this one, but don't expect the thrilling story of the first.
