It felt a little slow at times, but that may have just been me feeling restless. Loved the common magic and wish we could use that IRL.
The characters were wonderful

Not my normal genre, but this was compelling. Maybe don't listen at night tho

Allegories are often banal and overly sentimental for me. This fell into that trap.
It's.. fine. Comments about purpose and why we have to "accomplish" things, but the time jump toward the beginning was very jarring and the characters lacked originality and depth.
Not my vibe. May be for those who enjoyed The Alchemist.

This was hilarious and chaotic in the best way. I love how Reid presents the world, both here and in her earlier novel.
This one focuses on money and power (privilege) and how those things shape the ethics of our society. No better done than in the cesspool of a college dorm. Reid painted the scene so well. Very character-led with less plot, but everything comes together. Really enjoyed this.

I love that Kristin Hannah gives me lessons on history I theoretically know.
Honestly, I don't know much about Vietnam besides the headlines. This was a really beautiful look at the impact on a generation through the lense of one woman's life, and her dear friends.
This made me immensely thankful for my own bookending friends.

Hilarious. I found out Meryl Streep narrated the audiobook, so I snagged that for the last half. Some of the jokes have not aged well, to be sure. Nora Ephron knows her way around comedy, though.

Slow to start, but about 1/3 of the way through it becomes a delight. I love the idea of retelling mythological stories from the standpoint of the female godesses/titans/demigods that were denied a true voice in the original tales.

This is my third ever King novel (I know..) and it delivered.
I was hooked from the first page. The characters are multifaceted and inte esting to get to know, even the ones that were monsters.
King brings the COVID-19 pandemic to life throughout. It's not something so far in the past that we've forgotten, but those early days were something else.
Really enjoyed this one.

This was a sweet read. The characters are a little over the top and the southern phrases are plenty. One of the supporting characters has Ushers syndrome, which was a unique addition. Overall, I really enjoyed this. It's not going to blow your mind but it's nice.
