The autho does a really great job making history approachable in her language and storytelling. I appreciate the glimpse into some not-so-well-known people who helped shape history.
Salvage the Bones by Jesmyn Ward

I love the way Jesmyn Ward writes. It is rhythmic, a cadence, and it is beautiful even in heartbreaking.
The Poppy War by R.F. Kuang

Action packed. Kind of confusing on audio, but mainly because I was multitasking. Long, but kept me invested the whole time. I'll definitely be checking out #2!
For the Throne by Hannah Whitten

This took me longer to get through than the first, but I think that's more situational than the book itself (January is such a hard month for reading).
I wish there was a map still. And I would LOVE to see graphics of the shadowlands. My one complaint is the overuse of "spangled" but I think, again, that's my personal mental issue not a writing problem.
Regardless, I think HW did a wonderful job with this duology! I really enjoyed it
