This book was a nicely packaged betrayal. The decision to start this book wasn't hard to make, I always liked this author's writing and I was expecting this to be one of my new favorites. The writing was very very good and everything was on point. But, what I didn't exactly like about this book were the characters. Poppy was the most naive female lead character I have ever read about but she was described as fearless, intuitive girl the whole time. Hawke I didn't like at all. I mean this man literally fooled this girl into sleeping with him before he even told her his real identity. That felt really off to me. He also kept making remarks about how much she loved it, couldn't stop herself and blah blah blah. Yuck! I now hate man even more because of him.
