This was a wild ride and my first of Freida’s books! WILD. Infuriatingly WILD. I have so many questions.  I deducted partial stars for the subject matter (yuck) and for the filler chapters that could have made the book shorter to get to the meat of the story quicker.

This was disappointing yet slightly better than the Imbalance Trilogy. I’m not a fan of Faith Erin Hick’s writing/dialogue style. They tend to tell and not show. The dialogue is significantly different than Gene Luen Yang’s. The writing paired with the illustration changes makes this disappointing. Although, like I said, not as disappointing as the Imbalance Trilogy, which I would overall rate as a 2.5.

The change in art style is drastic and was actually quite distracting. The story was also slow and somewhat boring. I like the politics though. This seems to be the lead in to LOK.
