I’m not really sure what to think about this one. Most of all, I would say it was very stagnant. It was fascinating, yet horrible learning the details of the industry, but I felt nothing else towards this book. I think the pacing was a little off, especially the strike, which I wish was more explored, since it lasted all of two chapters. I did like how childish the main character was because she literally was a child. She doesn’t take anything seriously, and it really puts in perspective how young a lot of the girls were.

I surprisingly enjoyed this one. I say surprisingly though this was described as a combination of two of my favorite movies, so of course I would like it. This was so fun and gross at the same time. It’s super short and escalates so fast that I had no idea what was going on. I think everyone’s reactions were so realistic, that I kinda wanna know what happened after the events of the book. Overall, if you loved Ready or Not and The Menu, you’d probably love this too.

expected this to be more of a commentary of idol culture and the influence social media has on younger girls, but this was mostly just about cancel culture. How so many people on the internet feel the need to invade the lives of celebrities, but are unable to know a person through a screen, yet will participate in idol worship anyways. I just felt it was lacking in some ways and that it didn’t really go anywhere with any of its themes or characters. It didn’t add anything new to my life and was lacking in complexity. Overall, quick read, but waste of time really.

This is one of the calmest and coziest books I have ever read. It’s very cute, very gentle, very intimate, and I just found it so sweet. I hugged my cat a little tighter after finishing this. I loved how this included the POV of the pets and shared their struggles as well. Though this is told in multiple POVs of humans and cats, they blended together so seamlessly, especially after realizing the connections between the stories. Overall, I found this very sweet and the perfect read for a cozy read inside. I feel like I maybe overestimate my enjoyment of cozy books because I always end up rating them 3-3.5. I think I’ll just put these kinds of books on the backburner for now.
