I didn’t believe the characters. Their actions didn’t make sense and they just did things without reason. I also don’t believe they actually ever cared for each other. I don’t think we really got any meaningful expansion to this world and the charters.

The writing was odd, I didn’t find myself caring about the characters at all or what was going on and why.

This reminds me of ready player one but for content creators instead of video gamers. Also this does end on a cliff hanger so if you think you  are liking it make sure you grab the next one.

I think it tried making a point on humanity and working together for a common goal but it got lost in the conversation on internet fame.

The idea of this book sounded interesting and I wanted to like it. The actual plot points mentioned in the summary don’t actually start until about 30-40% in to the book and I don’t think we really needed to spend so much time leading up to it as we did. I didn’t care about any of the characters

This book was set up really well and I was so ready to dive into this world and follow the characters that were introduced but then even at 66% in the first book of a trilogy we had not gotten any further than when we were at 25%. A lot was said but not much happened and we jumped back and forth between POVs so often we could t spend enough time with any of them to really understand and start to care for them and the paths they wish to take.

Yes there is a found family and it is queer as well as a sister dynamic but they all feel surface level.
