The Misadventures of Awkward Black Girl by Issa Rae

I really like Issa Rae’s work. I found I enjoyed learning about her life in this book. It was especially fun to listen to the audiobook, read by Issa. However, this book could be a tough read for some because of the fatphobic content and vivid descriptions of disordered eating habits and body shame.

Jackal was an incredible book. A horror story with a mystery that kept me on edge and a message at the heart of it I won’t soon forget. Highly recommend!
