I really loved how the different timelines connected together. I was doubtful that it would work well but it did. The pacing was a little wonky and the middle of the book was pretty slow and hard to get through.

The first half was really slow and honestly I was bored. But once the tournament actually started it was super interesting. I fucking hate cliffhanger-endings but it made me want to read the second book.
