Insomnia by Stephen King

My favourite Stephen King book to date. I love the themes and issues throughout, it's the right amount of creepy for the serious issues it deals with and I think the characters are great. Yes it's long, but what do you expect from a King book? He goes into a lot of detail which brings you so much deeper into the story, not one word is wasted. I have the concentration span of a goldfish and I've still easily read this book at least 3 times.

I enjoyed this book a lot more than I thought I would, since it's a world without women and I love female lead stories. But I found it compelling and exciting and would definitely recommend it. There were a lot of tears at times and it definitely held my interest with the suspense. Parts of it, including the big secret, were somewhat predictable (my response to the big secret was "of course they did, effing men!") but that didn't ruin any of the interest for me. When I started reading this I didn't realise it was part of a trilogy, but I am logging onto audible as I type to buy the the others!
