Honestly my favorite so far in the series - we get a mix of plot, the tension between our love interests, and more story/world building.

This was definitely an enjoyable and cozy read! Perfect for those that love cozy low-stake fantasy's with sassy character's and a slow burn romance.

However, while I do love low-stake cozy fantasy's, I also like a little sustenance in my books - something that keeps me intrigued or pushes the plot along. And with The House Witch we really don't get that. I felt like the idea was wonderful and the history behind witches was intriguing but the execution and flow was just not there.

For the first volume in the series, I really enjoy the concept of where the mangaka is potentially taking it. Most of this manga was introducing the world and characters so not much to say on it.

Just love A Sign of Affection. I could spend so much time reading the story of Yuki and Itsuomi. I mean the artwork always gets to me, it's so beautiful.

Holy sh*t! I mean wow. I just finished The Hawthorne Legacy less than 5 minutes ago and my mind is still wrapping around what I just read. I honestly though I had the twists and turns figured out...I was wrong! All my guesses and hypothesis's were thrown out the window with my sanity. How does Barnes do this to me every time! All her books enrapture me, get my heart beating uncontrollably, and I can never put them down.

I am very much looking forward to The Final Gambit. I have so many questions! I need to know more.

Once again Jennifer Lynn Barnes delivers on a fast-paced mystery that keeps you on the edge of your seat the entire time. So many mysteries and twists woven into this 372 page book and while there were quite a few I guessed right, there were many that left me wanting to know more. It's been awhile since I turned pages that fast to get to the next little mystery, the next game.

It isn't perfect by any means but it is fun and Barnes has a way of drawing in her audience, leaving them wanting more.
