This book is the perfect mix of Terry Pratchett and Robin McKinley with just a little something else thrown in. Truly, it's so good.

This book was very very good; it almost made me cry. Content notes for sexual violence and misogyny. The look at different forms of magic was very cool - I'd never heard of Powwow/Brauche before. Overall, a great, interesting, fast read, even though in many ways the ending was much more of a beginning and I wanted more.

I wanted to enjoy this book so much more than I did, but it was a mess in terms of plot, character development, and prose.

I read this for a book club and loved it! It's extremely gay with some semi-explicit sex scenes that are funny, wholesome, and well-written. Reading the description didn't make me expect a romance, but at its heart, that's what this book is and it's lovely.

There's some stilted moments and bits of plot that don't work well, but overall a solid book that made me laugh much more than I expected.

The world is interesting and the ending is good, but so much of this book was frustrating. Everyone is so incompetent! And I get it, people are flawed, make mistakes, etc. etc. but a baseline level of competence from the protagonists would have been nice.

This book was so good! I read it very quickly and wanted more at the end. There's so much about how the magic works and about the Foxes that I still want to know.
