I can't even think of words to describe this book. Beautiful, sad, hopeful and hopeless all at once. A short novel but poignant, and a fictionalized account of a true story in Florida. The ending left me stunned and speechless. Historical fiction but with enough themes sprinkled throughout that you can spend hours thinking about what you've just read and what the different themes mean. Especially if you are from Florida, read this book!!!

pretty good for a free amazon kindle book!!! loved the lore and the world and overall plot. if i thought too hard about the writing style and the pace of the romance, it was like i was back on wattpad again… but maybe that was part of the charm! anyways all this to say that i <3 books written in present tense and i think we need more of them.

i had to check the goodreads review for book 2 before purchasing it on amazon kindle to make sure i wouldn’t be disappointed by the love triangle outcome… the plot was very interesting and the first 3rd of the book was definitely a better flow than the rest but it was a good setup for a book 2. to conclude, i love brooding men and gay people!

i read this entire sequel while on the 3hr plane ride to boston and it was a sequel that held up to the first!! the love triangle i hated in the first one was resolved so swiftly and cleanly that i was more confused about why it was even added to begin with. it was fun!!!
