As ridiculous as the concept of this book is, I found it weirdly believable! I would like to think nobody would try to sue Disney over the loss of their "happily ever after" but y'all are in this world with me and we all know people are crazy. I seriously couldn't tell through most of the book if the author was pro-Disney or anti-Disney; in fact I wasn't totally sure until the Author's Note at the end. That's part of what lent credibility to the story, I think. It is a romcom so you can absolutely predict part of the ending, though you might be surprised at how some pieces come together. I did think some of the drama felt a bit forced, like it was needed but it wasn't transitioned into the story super well.
I appreciated all the Legally Blonde references and laughed at some of the fake-Disney (Kingston) Disney references. I suppose the point wasn't to try and hide them super hard since this is princess oriented and the biggest names there are all public domain, but I kind of wished some of them were a little cleverer than Ricky the Rat and Ilsa.
I honestly disliked most of the characters. I found them all to be at best vapid and shallow, and I really didn't care if either side succeeded or failed. My coworker from Cali says the LA area really is all like that but oof, just not relatable. This is my second contemporary Cali-based book in the past couple years and I felt similarly of the other one as well so maybe it's a sign to just not read anything contemporary that's based in California.
I thought the narrators did a good job on the audiobook and recommend this to anyone who loves a solid romantic comedy.
