this was an interesting ending to the series. i enjoyed the backstory more than the last 3 volumes tbh. the ending felt anticlimactic though, she just *
ends with Oz in the real world... wanted something more and for all of the friends to be together, but oh well.
it was still a fun time with this series and i'd like an anime adaptation, it could really work well

i still dont know why exactly i love this series, but it just works, not my fault. they're well written, realistic, hopeful and dystopian, what's not to like? the FMCs are always plucky brave, curious and angry girls, I love it. this was a prequel, but the whole story felt so detached i kept thibking this was a stand alone, the epilogue is the whole prequel thing that connects the books together, in a way which i kinda expected. i liked the theme of God being positive and the book's plot really felt like now, as we're fearing the WW3.  still really enjoyed reading/listening to this, and will countinue with the next books. my goal is to finish them all this year inshaAllah.

i dunno what my thoughts are or if the rating is correct. o think my expectations were too high and my focus was the worst... the audiobook narration was fantastic, and the writing style was good, but the pacing was weird. i didn't care about Flick or Matteo which isn't a good sign, especially the later as he'll probalby end up with Arthie but... i just don't care. I liked Arthie but she was too focused in lust it threw me off. Jin and Laith just worked for me. I'll be mad if Laith either doesn't end up good in the 2nd one! the ending weas itnresrting but I really don't know if I'll read it if it goes in other way... also the romance is just not for me ok, I try but no...

read this as the writer is Palestinian, and the artist is Jordanian and the work SLAYED. I got all the messages it showed and the real-life counterparts. I don't know how this is fantasy though, it seemed more like an alternate historical fiction in a different world but still, it was pretty good. I just wish It was a bit longer so the pacing could've been better and the relationships between all the characters be more explored. otherwise, the story and art were amazing.  would read a potential sequel for sure.

it was interesting and both girls felt relatable but Nada more as a Muslim, tho I'm not Arab I liked that it tried to differentiate religion and culture, as there are definitely a ton of things about Saudi that I don't like and don't have to do with Islam. anyways this was fun, will probably read the rest too.

it was pretty interesting, I truly liked and cared for both MCs. I thought Islam would have a larger involvement but oh well. I learned some stuff about Pakistan but I can't help but feel it's outdated. also, it was wild seeing that the elections were a big part of the story, while elections just happened there again.

forgive me but i dont know how to put my thoughts and feelings into words. i only started this series like two years ago (read only the 1st one and then the rest last year) and i still felt sad and nostalgic to see the end. this series is one of my favorite hands down. it has ATLA vibes which I LOVE except it's more high fantasy and sci-fi. it has deep lessons, likeable and reedemable chatacters and a kind of couclusive but open ending. i'm happy to have found this and i will love to get physdcial copies and reread them in the future.
