A masterpiece

I thought this fell short of its potential, though I can't deny it was (mostly) an enjoyable read and the ending was (mostly) satisfying

Less of a sequel and more of a spin-off. I miss the main characters from the first book and wish this one kept the mystery and secrets and crime investigation of the first book, and ditched the gossip angle. Also, this is the second book in the series and no one has told the author yet that every house in the San Diego area does not have a basement, and cars from 2010 are not old

And the ending was abrupt and totally unbelievable. Like it was the 12 year old brother ?????? wut ?????????
