I would like to thank Netgalley and Poisoned Pen Press for a review copy of Dead Man's Chest as Phryne Fisher mysteries are amongst my favourite.
I really enjoyed this book even if it is a bit different from the others: no amorous interest, different settings.
The book is well researched and the different sets of characters, like the surrealists, are really interesting.
The cookery part was really interested and I am curious about the Impossible Cake.
One note: even this could be a stand alone book having read the previous books helps.
Funny, entertaining, a really good read.

Love the first one of this series and loved this book as it was funny, entertaining and had a plot that kept me wondering. Merlin and the old cat are my favourite. Hope to be able read soon a new adventure.
Many thanks to Netgalley and Kensington books for allowing to review this book.

Is there anything like a bad Georgette Heyer's bad piece of Regency fiction ? No, there isn't. This short story confirm the theory.
If you like Georgette Heyer this is a must have, you never read her books it could be nice but not the best way to discover this writer.
Thanks to Netgalley and Sourcebook Casablanca for giving me the chance to review this book

Even if is really well written and interesting on the whole I did not like this book very much. I found it a bit confused and it needed quite an effort to finish reading it.
Many thanks to Netgalley and the publisher.

I really liked Max Tudor and Saint Just mysteries so my expectations were quite high. All these book were really page-turners, great plots and a lot of humour.
Unfortunately this book did not meet my expectation. For me it was like travelling in a grey landscape with lots of secrets, dramas and long discussion on the sociological side. The heroine sometimes is witty and sometimes is just acid.
It could have been a wonderful reading but it ended being a bit boring and was really hard to finish this book
Many thanks to Netgalley and Midnight ink for giving me the chance to review this book.
