this was soooo sweet!!! ): i loved this so much, very heartwarming. i grew up on the movie and it was one of my favorites, but the book did NOT disappoint!!! one of the best middle grades ive had the pleasure of reading.

yeah i have no idea how else to rate this because like. the writing was good and the ending kind of made sense, but there was so much back and forth and whiplash that it just kinda lost the plot. like i can see what the author was trying to do but it was a miss for me personally...way too messy and confusing. i will continue to read more from this author though since sundial and the last house on needless street were such great reads!

i want to like this author soooo bad but all the weird stuff with kids/teenagers always throws me off ): the art style is really cool and i liked this for what it is (the horror aspect and the way vampirism works reminds me of tokyo ghoul but like. worse) but i rly dont know if ill be continuing honestly
