I guess it wouldn’t be a proper Harley homage of it didn’t include at least one story where Harley Quinn was just a tertiary character. Would have been a proper five stars without the Joker War comic; like honestly, so cringey to put that in.

It’s an interesting look in on the pain of the older sibling and the responsibilities they carry, or think that they must.

It’s actually pretty fantastic and quiet a page turner. It’s sold on being scary with lots of horror elements but is closer to a investigation of cults then it is to a horror story. The funny part is that this is like a precursor to Midsommar, but the “horror” readers are supposed to feel comes from the power of women dominating men and men being the victims. It’s Midsommar except from the boyfriend’s perspective.

This is one of the very few times where I’d say the movie was better than the book. Way better. All the tension the movie had the book has none of, the characters are somehow less interesting, and the movie ending is much more satisfying.

Now I understand what people mean when they feel seen by another human being. This woman is both the girl I hate and my best friend. A girl who probably hates me but I do anything I can to impress her.
Out of all the “unhinged” women I’ve read, Edie feels the most real; she’s layered and complex, a nice girl and sometimes horrible person, she’s lovable but that is hidden beneath her antagonistic flaws.
Who hasn’t found themselves in love with someone before they realize it wasn’t ever really love. Who hasn’t been struck by the reality of a person only after you’ve dug yourself six feet for them.
I can’t believe this was a debit novel. Very few books have moved me this much, and even fewer gripped me like this from beginning to end.

An incredibly fun little romp of a book told in letters between Lady Susan, her family, and friends. It’s fantastic if you love gossip and have the need to feel like a more active participant from the outside looking in on other peoples lives.

I saw the trailer for the show coming out, but really I don’t know what drove me to pick up this book. It was actually incredibly interesting. Most notably, I’d say this is just one of many examples of how the justice system fails and how communities are better at policing. The book itself admits that the real dangers TV shoes tell us the police protect us from don’t happen in real life, “men who commit multiple homicides are not all that proficient at killing - the cops are just not very good at catching them.”
The competency of the FBI is a myth that they have curated through the media, and while this book may play to both sides for the sheer need to be published, it brings to light the failings of the FBI, the police, and the justice system.
