Arch-Conspirator by Veronica Roth

I think I have to stop trying to like fantasy / sci-fi. I always make the same comments where I am bored and not really interested. I think the path of the reimagine of Antigone itself is well done and interesting, but I just couldn’t get myself invested.
A Paris Affair by Tatiana de Rosnay

Honestly just boring as hell. I thought it would be more engaging as it is a collection of short stories about affairs, but it was literally just a bunch of French men cheating on their wives for no reason. The summary of the book made it seem like it was suspenseful and scandalous but it was just men being the worst.
Alice's Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll

Honestly, I’ve never been a big Alice in Wonderland fan. I don’t think the story is that intriguing and after reading it, I stand by that. The movie is much better than the book and I don’t even really like that that much.

I have actually really been enjoying all the short stories I have read during this challenge. This particular set was really good. It was a bunch of cute romance stories full of second chances and self discovery. I loved the multiple authors include; it helped add to the diversity and range of the stories. I think the stories told had a good mix of all type of people and love stories. It didn’t feel repetitive in the story telling which was really nice.

I don’t have much to say. I was honestly just not invest and kind of bored. It isnt really a bad book, just not for me.
Survive the Night by Riley Sager

I don’t really like thrillers but this was actually really good. It had a compelling plot and the main character was very interesting. The plot twist and reveal was unexpected while still being believable. I think it was a very good and interesting read.
Kissing Ted Callahan (and Other Guys) by

This was okay, I liked it but it was also very frustrating. Kind of crazy that the two main characters just started ignoring their best friends because they had dating experience and the main characters didn’t. I do think that writing in the journal was also crazy. But I still liked the couples and rooted for them to end up together. It was just a crazy plot line.

I’m not going to lie, sometimes the middle grade books are better than adult fiction I read. This was a fun and light hearted read. I would’ve been obsessed with it if I read it in middle school. I think it is a nice book for kids to read about being an outcast (queer, theater kid, etc.) at school and how to learn to love who you are. The art style is really good also which adds to my enjoyment of the book.
An Evening with Garrison Keillor, Maya Angelou, Laurie Colwin and Tom Wolfe: A Gala Evening of Readings to Benefit the Homeless by Laurie Colwin, Garrison Keillor, Tom Wolfe, Maya Angelou

I think this was for a good cause and I did find it somewhat funny. It probably would’ve been funnier and more relevant if I lived during the time of writing but it was a good read nonetheless.
Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing by Matthew Perry

No tea, no shade to Matthew Perry, this just was not written very well. I know memoirs are people’s own stories but he just repeated the same thing many times throughout the book. It was also a memoir that was lowkey just god propaganda which I don’t enjoy.
