Sisters of Blood and Spirit by Kady Cross

Honestly maybe more like one and a half stars.
I didn't hate this book but there were a dozen or so times that I nearly DNFed this book. As has been my experience with ghost centred books I found this just too forced. It wasn't that it was bad. It just wasn't exactly what I would call good. I rated it higher than I was going to mainly because the end did make me want to read the next book, but I highly doubt that I will.
It felt like the main characters were trying too hard to seem like they weren't trying at all. Which may have been a part of the story, but in my mind only brought an aspect of tackyness to the novel. Sorry.

Okay so this was a little bit cliché at parts but I did actually end up really enjoying it. And there were quite a few twists that I never would have guessed.
The character development was decent but I am hoping for more in the following books.
Luckily I have the next book because I need more.

This was heartbreaking. I cannot imagine the pain that she would feel going through such a thing. So yes I guess this is a spoiler. Sort of. All I'm admitting is that, as it says in the blurb, someone will die.
And it will be terrible.
But I did really enjoy this book. As I'd hoped it went further into developing the characters and also explained a lot more about Angel-Bloods, which was good since I'm pretty certain everyone was curious.
Or at least I was.
I would type more but I've got the next book to read. So I'm going to go do that.

As much as I enjoyed this book I don't think I'm quite old enough to properly appreciate it. I'm Eighteen years old, still a baby, and have never had to worry about my husband leaving me. Mainly because I don't have a husband, or even a boyfriend.
But nevertheless this book was still interesting to me. The characters were flawed and mismatched and realistic and I may have no experience with Adulthood type problems (well no REAL experience) but even I could feel Georgie's struggle.
The progression between past and present was nice and not as confusing as it is in some books which really added to the story.
You cannot feel the pain of losing someone if you never experienced the thrill of loving them.
It was, overall, a cute love story with a twist.

I liked this book but I didn't get as absorbed into it as a lot of other people seem to have done. It was interesting and myths are something that I am definitely fascinated by but for some reason this book just wasn't as wonderful as I had been told, as I had hoped, it would be.
Thinking about it now it could have been the fact that a lot of this book was set on a war front which I'm afraid is not where my interests lie.
Overall though it was still a very good book and, although not one of my favourites, definitely worth the read.

I feel that the end of this story is seriously lacking. And that is all the spoiler type stuff I will say. Although the ending is slightly anti-climatic I do realise that this is only the first of many and the story has no where to go but up.
Now the actual story was interesting, particularly it's take on Religion. I myself am not overly religious but I found that this book's view of the different faiths was entriging. This as well as the romance and the mystery and eveything else that made up this story really enjoyable.
This series will definitely be one that I continue.
