I loved the mix of very grand illustrations of the moon and the simple pictures of the family on earth watching the television coverage of the moon landing. This is an informative nonfiction book that reads like a picture book. I actually got a little teary eyed when they landed!

I am not a fan of truck books usually, but I loved the mini stories of the equipment in this book. Machines Go to Work is an amazing blend of detailed illustrations of the machines set against fabulous backgrounds. A truck book for boys, girls, and parents! (and librarians)

My first thought - "not another Abe Lincoln book"; but I really liked the presentation of the school play about Lincoln. Sing along to the the tune of "The Old Grey Mare" and enjoy!

The cover alone is worth 4 stars - add the rest and 5 stars was easy to get to. Must go place holds on some of Jerry Pinkney's older books that I have not read!

I would never have picked this up on my own, but it is the title I am preparing a book club kit for. The toughest part of the book is figuring out how you feel about the main character - but that is what makes it such a good choice for a book club. Lots to discuss here.

Enjoyable historical fiction about a profession you don't hear much about.

Very funny at times. The fake New York Times Bestseller list is very good. I am pretty sure I just read A Whiff of Gingham and Pecorino!
