Really enjoyed this one, listed via audio book and it was well read and made me laugh in parts it was quite sad and I think it reflects a person who is disappointed with there life, and the poor choices people make that have a disastrous knock on effect.

I do think that in parts there was a lot of focus on what was wrong rather than finding solutions but the growth was good.

Her family are pretty terrible people.

Look man, it's a book, it's about 2 gals who can't communicate well, and could have solved the whole book with one serious uncomfortable discussion.

Fully could not wait to be finished with this book, but not actually pin point the page where I started hating the main characters.

Lots about the book was frustrating but I think you can't complain too much about a Christmas book.

Its giving lesbian Hallmark movie, if they could say the word "cunt".

Also on that calling your mum cishet is cringe and you can't convince me otherwise.

The audio book was kind of boring and I just wasn't taking it in.

I found this book really hard to stomach in parts, in fact in the first few chapters I physically flinched whilst reading this book.

Sexism is no joke, and the '50s & '60s were brutal for woman, no wonder they were all dosing themselves with amphetamines and valium.

I found parts of this book to be funny, in fact I laughed out loud several times, but also there were moments of deep, darkness and the levity was few and far between.

I picked this up thinking it would be a fluffy easy read it wasn't that for me but I also think it was worth reading.

Just brace yourself.

I found myself enjoying this book in the moment but towards the end I got quite tired of it.

I think I found the book a little bit exhausting, the main character is a chronic overthinker and in addition she really went over the options, by the end her actually making a decision was a massive relief.

I don't think it's a bad book, but it's also not one of my fave reads of the year, it was quite middling really.

I enjoyed this, it was short and sweet but as always I really enjoyed Emily St John Mandel's writing delicate and beautiful, but laced with sadness.

This was beautiful and bittersweet.

In parts this was actually hard to read but at all times  very hard to put down.

So many great lines throughout this and absolutely a book I will be talking about for years to come.

Dunno, was half listening to these in the car but then just never picked it up again. I've crossed it off my reading as I'm not reaching for it. Maybe another time.
