very strange racial and gender politics in this but the narrative itself is so insanely well done. cannot stop thinking about it

i think u know where this is going pretty early on and there’s something so satisfying (albeit grim) about how the events unfold. loved paul’s character he’s soooo normal. a real regular guy

also i want to give him the benefit of the doubt cause i don’t think vonnegut was racist and i get he’s being satirical but there are some things in here (& similar was present in cats cradle) that you just have to squint your eyes at

the major (and only) complaint i had for the first three quarters was that every time it started to get really engaging it’d be interrupted by a long winded conversation about something very christian and very incomprehensible to me. the only yapfests i found interesting were william’s. i will say he does justify the inclusion of all the discussions/debates in the postscript but you know..doesn’t make them any easier to read

hm. i think this is more interesting in theory than actuality. i wish it leaned more into the surrealism of them being doppelgangers / taking on each other's identities. certain parts dragged a bit and i think it was because the absurdity of what was happening was told too matter of factly. maybe that was the point? still enjoyed it overall and the ending was fun
