The Pairing by Casey McQuiston
As an introvert homebody I found this one pretty exhausting to read at times. The text was sometimes overly descriptive without being like illuminating to the actual atmosphere. But overall a fun story and I do love a second chance romance.

XOXO by Axie Oh
Not going to rate because I am so aged out of YA but really needed an X title for my reading challenge lol. This was convenient but ultimately cute. Mostly just made me want to travel!
Phoenix Gets Greater by Marty Wilson-Trudeau
Read for 2024 Read Harder prompt: Read a picture book published in the last five years. A very sweet story!

a fun installment! I really really liked Teddy as a character but felt this one was a bit insta lovey. I wanted more of Teddy’s next chapter and felt it was wrapped up a bit to easily. The kid was fairly unobtrusive - which is second best to not there at all for me lol.

I have read many and seen many but somehow knew nothing about this one! Always fun to unpack a new Shakespeare story and finally get all of the homages - Tigers, Not Daughters and If We Were Villain finally make sense. I honestly struggled a bit to understand who the villain was here for a while until Lear's daughters became scooby-doo level. I thought they were kind of in the right for telling their dad not to bring 100 partying men to their house.

so glad I finally got to this one! really vibed with the story and the atmosphere but I felt the pacing and characterization was less that perfect.

Low angst but still "fun" drama, great communicative main couple, funny, and well written! Really excited to read more from Natasha Bishop in the future!!
The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes by Suzanne Collins

Dude I actively hated this. I was honestly never really interested in reading it because I really didn't feel like it needed to exist but I am doing a series reread so here we are. I felt the characters were extremely dull and Snow's "arc" was basically a flat line. Why was this so long?? I could see this being an interesting short story or something but damn the pacing was so slow and dragged out. I kept waiting for Lucy Gray to be interesting and unfortunately she was not. Huge bummer.
Dracula Daily by Bram Stoker

I don't know if reading via Dracula Daily was the way for me - it made this feel so extremely long and boring! Always fun to read a bit of an origin text and I am glad I can now read retellings and reimaginings knowing the source material.
