Pretty fast paced and was pretty good. The characters were not my favorites but overall the story was good. Kept me guessing on who the big bad was.

Not my fave but not the worst thing I've ever read. It was really slow in a few parts, and I skipped over some of them. The twist was pretty good and the story could've been good, like I liked the idea of it, but the characters didn't do it for me and for this type of story I needed characters I could enjoy.

If I could rate this higher I would! Def 10/10 would recommend read. Super fast, interesting characters, loved that it took place in Chicago, loved the actual story.
If you want to read modern takes on folklore that isn't just Greek/Roman, this is for you. There was also a sort of light or brief touching of how Christianity views pain as penance and how that might not actually be the way to go about things.
Also the little bit of romance and the little bit of found family was wonderful.

I really enjoyed this. Super fun and a surprisingly quick listen of an audiobook. I have heard the others in this series aren't as good as this one, but I'm still 100% willing to check out the others.

Did not finish book. Stopped at 73%.
I could not focus on any of this audiobook. I was confused when the povs shifted. I just wasn't invested enough to try to push through and I zoned out from a lot of it. Just not for me.

Not my fave but def better for me than one of us is next. Liked the little surprise/mystery reveal because yeah I had no clue (I'm terrible at figuring stuff out haha). It was a bit slow to start but easy to push through and finish as the 2nd half with everything picking up was faster paced. There are a lot of characters and it combined everyone from one of us is lying and one of us is next so some characters are more absent than others.
The ending was okay, fitting for the story.

This was just an okay read for me even though I LOVED her previous works. I think the premise was interesting and the end half had a nice nod to her previous works (character names mentioned and of course the recurring theme of mental health). But it was so slow that I had to force myself to finish it. I stopped to take a break from reading it multiple times. I think if you didn't know racial history, this would be a good place to start, but I skipped a lot of the notes as it was already information that I know/speak about/continue to interact with on social media. I also wasnt a big fan of the portrayal that the pandemic is essentially over/not as serious anymore because of vaccines. COVID is still a very serious and highly infectious disease and people still need to be taking the proper precautions (MASK UP and have good air filtration/ventilation).  Heavy topics are discussed so if you are getting this for a younger audience (since it is middle grade) be aware of all content/trigger warnings.

Overall really enjoyed the series and the characters. Didn't LOVE the ending but it wasn't terrible. Will say I ended up not liking Libby again (started liking her in the 2nd book but this one made me dislike or not really care for her all over again. Not necessarily a badly written character but she was just frustrating/annoying at a lot of parts for me), didn't really care for Nico again (he was just sort of annoying and lacked depth for me throughout), still wished there was more from Reina in terms of character development/depth (felt like she was the least fleshed out even though she had interesting magic and an interesting/important goal), and still loved Tristan, Callum, and Parisa who were all the more fledged out of the 6 along with Libby. I enjoyed seeing all their interpersonal interactions and feelings with each other and the complexity of them. It does get long winded and draggy with all the more minor characters, especially with the Ezra 6 whom I just didn't really give two shits about tbh. The first half is pretty slow then it picks up at the back half. Def recommend having audio assistance along with the physical or digital book because without audio, I don't think I would've gotten through it. I think some of it could've been cut and still kept all the important or critical bits.

Not my favorite. Had some good parts/lines but overall found myself zoning out a lot while reading it.
