I loved every book I've read written by Ali Hazelwood and this one is no exception... with a little "plus" thanks to the fantasy vibe that is definitely my favorite vibe.

I would definitely give a 5 stars for the writing and the originality of the story! I gave only 4 stars because it wasn't to my taste but I can really understand why so many people love this book!

I can't get enough of Violet... Xaden... Tairn... Andarna... Ridoc... and all those amazing characters who made me laugh (OK... especially Ridoc) and cry too many times in this book! I'm still in love with this universe and the story that I can't wait to discover when the sequel will be published... definitely a torture to wait now... I'm not made to suffer that much Miss Yarros! Be nice with my poor heart and accelerate time so I can heal from all this pain quickly ❤️

I jumped into this book without any clues about the story as I had it on my TBR for a little too long... and that may have been my mistake as I wasn't expecting to be so moved by Elizabeth's story... so many fights with as many losses... what a journey she went through and... it felt so real... sadly! I loved every page of that book even if it broke my heart.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher (via Netgalley) in exchange for an honest review.

Wow! That's the kind of story I can't put down! I absolutely loved everything : the academy, the characters, the writing and especially what I enjoy so much in books : the way emotions are described. I never felt so many emotions while I was reading but I honestly almost threw my Kindle a dozen times because of the way the characters made me feel (so much frustration!)... and I loved it! It's so precious to live IN the story and not just around it in your everyday life. Blake, you're the best of the worst... or the worst of the best, who knows?! Now I'll feel empty until book 3 is published because I need to know what's going to happen to everyone!

You liked Fourth Wing? Then there's a good chance you'll LOVE this story (it's definitely on my top 5 thus year!!). I absolutely couldn't put this book down as I fell in love with it quite at the beginning (earlier than most of the books I read). The characters are full of fire and battle-spirit... and it feels so right! I wanted to be there as much as I was hating Bloodwing Academy... but that end!!!! I definitely want to read the second book as soon as possible as I NEED to know what will happen to Blake and Medra!

How can a book about totally creepy serial killers be so cute and funny? I still can't understand that little magic trick but I definitely enjoyed the journey! What a crazy story and as crazy characters! How many times did I "awwwww"ed to some cute things Rowan said? I couldn't count... but too many considering his little "hobby" and the "gory" details about it...

A good mix between Outlander and... I don't know... maybe the Belladonna serie (for the mysteries). I definitely didn't uncover the truth until the last part of the book so the mystery is well hidden... and perfectly constructed! I enjoyed the story but I give it a 4 stars review as there were too much descriptions to my taste... but it definitely doesn't mean it wasn't well written! It's really just less to my taste 😉

What an original story... devils... magic... curses... challenges... and love! And all that perfectly balanced! I really enjoyed Ophelia's journey and, once again, I may have a little crush for the morally grey male character 🫣 But shhhhh... don't tell anyone!
